Beg for Mercy

I was mesmerized by Beg for Mercy from the very first sentence until the last. I didn't want it to end, the characters were intriguing and well-written by the end of the book they were almost like friends. Megan Flynn is a woman who is fighting for the life of her brother who has been wrongfully accused of murder two years ago and in a week's time he will be put to death for the crime. With that kind of timeline, Megan doesn't have long to track down what really happened, find the real culprit, and prove her brother's innocence. To further complicate matters, Cole Williams, the man she was falling in love with two years ago...the man who ultimately betrayed her by arresting her suddenly back in her life. She doesn't have time to deal with Cole and find out what really happened the night her brother was arrested for murder but she's going to have to make time.

For Cole's part, he's always walked on the side of the law and sacrified everything to be the best at his job. Two years ago he gave up the promising relationship with Megan because if he hadn't, she would have ruined his career. At the time Cole truly believed her brother was a killer, but now that Megan is back in his life asking intriguing questions he has to wonder if they really got the right man the first time around. And how far is he willing to go for Megan.
