The Highlander Next Door

A Spellbound Falls Romance

I have read other books in the Spellbound Falls romance series. These books do not disappoint. I enjoy the interaction between the characters. Their magnetism to each other is sexy and almost animalistic. Magic also plays a part in these stories from time-traveling to mythical Gods and talking trees. These stories have paranormal meeting the current century and they fit perfectly. The Highlander Next Door continues this series in the same vein. Check out this series and this book form hours of reading enjoyment.

Birch Callahan is determined to ensure the safety of the residents of Spellbound Falls’ new Crisis Center. She is so frustrated with Chief of Police, Niall MacKeage, because he doesn’t seem to take her seriously. Not to mention, he is her neighbor. Even though he annoys her, she can’t help but notice all the massive muscles on his handsome frame. It seems like every time she is in need of assistance, the Chief is always there.

Niall MacKeage may be a hulking Scot that is from another century, but he seems to have a soft spot for Birch Callahan. He tries to understand Birch’s concerns, but she doesn’t seem to want to listen to his. However, he realizes that she has the residents’ best interests and he is eager to assist when he can. The more time he spends with Birch, the stronger the attraction between the two. It seems every time he turns around, he’s rescuing her from something or somebody. He vows that she will become his even if she doesn’t know it yet. When Birch and her mother are in danger, Niall will stop at nothing to save his pint-sized spitfire.
