This is a different friends to lovers story with a magical twist in an area of the world that isn’t usually in romance books. It comes together into an exceptional romance that I truly enjoyed. As I started the book I was trying to figure out where it was place. England? Australia? I would have never guessed South Africa but that is the setting and it is done well. You get the feeling of the country which is terrific as I’ve never been there. The magic is in an inherited album that shows the probable future of couples but you can’t use it on yourself. And, our friends have been friends since high school and Ella definitely wants to keep Ross in the friend category. Ross has started to have different ideas. Everything is done in a way to make you feel as though this could be a real story. I loved Ella, Ross and Ella’s friends. The care that they have for each other is more than just close friendship. Ella’s family connections are a bit more confusing but each family is different so it is what it is. This seems to be the start of a series concerning Ella and her friends and the magical album. I look forward to reading more though I don’t see how any of the future stories can be better than this one. Do not look for lots of bedroom scenes in this book. This story is more on the sweet side. Totally fun romance to read though.
