This book is part of a series, but it does stand alone. You may find yourself wondering about previous books due to some of the backstory started in previous stories. Regardless, I found this to be a great paranormal romance with lots of depth and dimension. The world that is developed is within the real world. The hustle and bustle of the weeks before Christmas come alive as does many of the issues we frequently hear about. But don’t let any of that make you think that this is anything except a paranormal story. The pack rules and problems are uniquely wolf. The characters are well thought out. Their dedication towards the betterment of wolves everywhere is commendable. I really liked how Holly is a strong woman with strong convictions. Aiden is a workaholic with labs everywhere. He allows his brother to dictate the need for bodyguards but truly doesn’t see himself as anything special. I loved how things came together and fell apart and yet ended with a fantastic ending. Ms. Spear does a great job with her wolves and paranormal fans will love them.
Dr. Aidan Denali is dedicating his life to finding a cure for a sudden declining lifespan that is showing up in every pack he has taken blood samples from. He just can’t figure out why some have this and others do not. But, it’s Christmas and he’s going to his brother’s for the holiday. This means he needs to buy Christmas presents. He never expects to be saving a young boy from kidnapping at the mall or meeting a potential mate. Dr. Holly Gray belongs to a pack that wants nothing to do with Aiden or his studies. Their pack isn’t having problems! However, she would love to work with him. She didn’t expect to ever have the chance. Can she find her way to help find a cure while they investigate the attraction they have towards each other or will Holly’s pack leader put a stop to it?
When the wolves' own blood betrays them, they risk their lives to find a miracle.
