Time Untime

Ren’s story is one that will make any Dark Hunter follower cringe at how long this poor man has walked this earth carrying around the guilt and anguish of the past. Ren has been beaten down by his past and the constant badgering of his half-brother over many, many years. As the infamous December 21, 2012 approaches, Ren must protect the woman who can both destroy him and save him. It’s the ultimate test for Ren, as each Dark Hunter finds themselves facing, but in the end it gives Ren just what he needs to let go of the past and have a family that loves him for who he is.

For the latest installment in the Dark Hunter series, we get a mix of Greek mythology with Mayans and Native American lore mixed into a story as only Sherrilyn Kenyon can give it to us. Ren, a Keetoowah warrior is charged with ensuring that his brother, Coyote, can’t get his hands on the ancient tablet that would allow him to rule the world, is a tortured soul along the lines of Acheron. Almost as old, he spent his human life being shunned and ridiculed by the family that should have loved him but didn’t. Ren is jaded by the betrayal he’s felt at the hands of his father, brother and the one woman he’d ever cared about. His life may have turned him into the demon the Cherokee people told their people about, but one woman changes all about Ren and how he sees himself.

Kateri was raised by her medicine woman grandmother after her father ran off and her mother died. She was raised on Cherokee stories, but never thought any of them were real. But when a colleague dies after sending Teri a tablet he found on a dig, she soon realizes those stories were real. She comes face to face with the warrior she’s seen in her dreams. While she knows she should be scared of Ren, she sees something in him that makes her want to reach out and make sure he knows she’s there for him. Ren fights to keep Teri alive to ensure she can do her part to stop Coyote, but it’s Teri’s loving touch and understanding that help Ren let go of the anger of the past.

This is a good story to keep the series going.

Book Blurb for Time Untime

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon comes the next thrilling installment in her blockbuster Dark-Hunter series

The Mayans aren’t the only ones with a 2012 prophecy…

Long before recorded history, there was a Keetoowah warrior so feared that everyone trembled before his wrath. Only a brutal betrayal by the one closest to him could defeat him. But not even death was the end of a man so strong.

The Time Untime approaches…

Kateri Avani has been plagued her entire life with dreams she doesn’t understand. Images of places she’s never been and of a man she’s never seen. Her quest for answers has driven her to Las Vegas where she hopes to finally silence the demons in her mind.

What she never anticipates is coming face to face with the warrior who has haunted her her entire life. One who belongs to a world the scientist in her refuses to believe is real.

Ren Waya came back from the dead to keep the prophecy he began from coming true and ending the world. For thousands of years, he has fought the same evil that once possessed him. But now that evil has found the one person he can’t fight. The one person who, against his will, holds the most sacred part of him.

His heart.

But if he doesn’t kill Kateri, the deadliest of evils will reemerge and destroy everyone else on the planet. It was a sacrifice he made once.

Will he be able to make it again?
