DIRTY by Kylie Scott is supposed to be a spin-off series from her other series, 'Stage Dive'. Vaughan is introduced in DEEP, the last book of that series. However, it's not necessary to read the other series to be able to read DIRTY.
On the day of Lydia's wedding to Chris, she gets an anonymous video sent to her of her groom making out with his best man/best friend. This shocking discovery causes Lydia to run from the wedding and into the open window of Vaughan's bathroom. She stays, just needing a minute to gather herself and figure out what she's going to do.
Vaughan doesn't know what to do when he finds a random crying woman in his shower. But he knows she doesn't want to be alone, and, honestly, neither does he. He's back in his hometown after being gone for 10 years with his band. Now that the band has split, he needs to figure out what he's going to do with the rest of his life.
Lydia and Vaughan find each other at a pivotal time in their lives. Is it a sign that there's something more there between them, or is it only desperation pushing them together?
DIRTY is a great mix of humor, flirtation, and romance. Kylie Scott does an incredible job fleshing out the chemistry between Lydia and Vaughan; there's no denying the attraction. DIRTY is a great jumping-off point for the 'Dive Bar' series. A majority of the other characters have been introduced and they are all intriguing. I can't wait to see who Scott writes about next.
I recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of Kylie Scott or the 'Stage Dive' series, or any fan of romance.
Love?on the rocks….
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.
Lydia Green doesn't know whether to scream or cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together.
Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she's normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads. But Lydia's already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong--maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?
Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar series from bestselling author Kylie Scott.
