Wild Card

Nathan Malone is back from the dead after the past few years and he’s got a few things to resolve. A mission gone wrong has caused him to lose his life as a Seal, a wife he loved and the man he once was. Bella has been suffering with grief for a long time as she tried to cope with the loss of her soul mate. She has managed to pull herself together enough to take care of the garage she knows her husband loved, but unexpected danger is around the corner. Bella’s safety and well being have forced Nathan to come back and protect what’s his, but he can only tell Rory, his brother, his true identity. Part owner of the garage, Rory hires Nathan as a new mechanic. Angry with herself and her husband’s memory, Bella is shocked over the deep attraction and lust she feels for this stranger that has pushed his way into her life. They both soon find out that all is not as it seems.

Having read most of Lora Leigh’s books, this 1st book in the Elite Ops series is by far my favorite. The words are so brilliantly scripted that I experienced a vivid portrait of so many emotions displayed throughout the book. All of the background characters play an integral part to the success of this story. Some you’ll adore and others you’ll literally want to strangle. Bella initially fools the reader into believing she is a girly girl only interested in manicures, but soon proves that she’s no pretty pushover and has a will of iron. This is particularly evident as she overcomes hard times and overwhelming grief to get her life back together as a widow; sexually, she wants what she wants. At first, I had some mixed feelings about Nathan. Brooding and strong, this is a man who has been to hell and survived, causing me to admire his courage. I did question his judgment, however, with one of his decisions early on in the novel. But once I understood why he made that decision, I fell hopelessly in love with this deliciously dominant alpha and my heart still can’t keep still. Watching these two multi-dimensional characters in an erotic tug of war will keep the reader up at night. The connection between these two is blazing, passionate and intense causing steam to literally leap off the page. For those who love a tale of intrigue spiced with red-hot sex and great romance, Wildcard is a definite Top Pick!

Book Blurb for Wild Card

It was supposed to be simple. All Navy SEAL Nathan Malone had to do was rescue three young girls from a Colombia drug cartel, then allow himself to be captured just long enough to draw out a government spy. That was before his mission went disastrously wrong…and before his wife, Bella, was told that Nathan was never coming home.

Bella’s mourned her husband’s death for three long years. But she has no idea he’s still alive. Forced to assume a new identity, the man Nathan was is now dead. If he can get back to his wife, can he keep the secret of who he really is…even as desire threatens to consume them? And as danger threatens to tear Bella from Nathan’s arms once more?
