Andi Ramos introduces an entertaining new detective to the cozy genre. I knew Sheagan O’Hare was going to be different from the very first scene, because she truly came in like a wrecking ball. After her introduction I truly had no idea what she could possibly do next. I loved her exuberance and her determination. I appreciated the fact that she had moments of doubt and even despaired about her future and that of the family business. I enjoyed watching her trying to solve her case, how she at times planned things out methodically and at others things just sort of happened. The supporting characters added an entertaining depth to the story as well helped to reveal elements of Sheagan’s personality. I loved her banter with Colin MacEvan and I can’t wait to see what develops between the two as Sheagan tackles her next case. If you are looking for an entertaining mystery with a new gumshoe in town, this is a great choice.
The Story: Sheagan O’Hare might have inherited the family business but being a detective isn’t as easy as her father made it look. Her first case is a missing person that quickly snowballs in to embezzlement and murder and she finds herself entangled with the feds who just want her to stay out of it.
Sheagan O’Hare got more than she bargained for when her newly inherited detective agency lands its first case; a missing person, embezzlement, and murder. Sheagan’s out to prove she can hang with the pro's, despite the constant reminder of her amateur status from an annoyingly attractive FBI agent, Colin 'Mac' MacEvine, who’s forced himself into her life.
