A Serenade to Die For

Janet Fogg and David Jackson turn the ignition switch and take readers for a wild ride of an adventure. The action starts right out of the gate and doesn't let up until the end.

Isbel Vargas is one determined woman, she believes she can rescue her father without getting the police involved but it is a treat to see her struggle with the fact she cannot do it alone.

Cane Mullins is an interesting man and his past with Isbel give the couple a unique banter. I admit that she didn't really endear herself to me with the attitude she had towards Cane. Sure he was her ex but I don't think he deserved her animosity especially when he was helping her out.

The fact that the story also lets you follow along with one of the culprits puts an interesting spin on things. The setting seems expertly described as I felt transported south of the border.

While this wasn't a particular favorite read for me, if you are looking for an adventure that swerves off the beaten path this might just be the mystery for you.

The Story: Cane Mullin is back in town looking for the car Isbel Vargas's father stole years ago and she refuses to help him. But now she needs his help. Her father has been kidnapped and she can't go to the police or he will be arrested. Can Cane help save her father and rescue their past relationship as well?
