Teague and Risa’s story is very enjoyable and lovely. I will recommend it to anyone who loves to read a steamy love story.
Sweet Southern Betrayal is the third book in the Boys Are Back In Town series by Robin Covington. Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone for this book is about a total different character’s life.
Teague Elliot is an ambitious attorney who will do everything to reach the top and he knows that he can make it happen. All he has to do is to stay as he is without anything to blemish his image. He is shooting for a high place to be in the political world and he almost succeeded until he wakes up in bed with Risa, a Las Vegas club dancer.
Risa Clay ows ten thousand to a mobster and to repay that debt she agrees to betray a stranger who happens to be hot and sexy who she can’t resist sleeping with. One night with a stranger turns her life upside down when it turns out that not only does she sleeps with a total stranger but she also marries to him.
The author does such a good job with these two characters. They are so likeable even though there are some parts where I feel really angry with Teague. The fact that he loves Risa so much, he can’t seem to admit it to her. It is so frustrating reading those parts. Risa and Teague are so perfect for each other. Though their meeting is not under normal circumstances, they feel a connection with each other. When Risa left him that morning, Teague can’t seem to forget about her and vice versa. But nonetheless they go back to their normal life after that day until Risa shows up in Teague’s town looking for him. It turns out not only did they spend a night together, they also married.
When Teague sees Risa again, the feelings he tries to forget starts to resurface again. As he spends more time with Risa, he suspects that Risa is keeping something from him and he tries to uncover what it is.
When the truth comes out, will he still want Risa and listen to what she has to say? And what happens when Risa is in trouble and she needs his help? Will he abandon everything and help her? Will he choose love or will he choose his job?
I had so much fun reading this book. In this book, you also get to meet the earlier characters from the first two books. I really enjoyed reading about them in this book. Now I really want to read about Lucky and Jack’s story. They seem like really great guys, so that makes me want to read their story. They are great friends to Teague and Teague is very lucky to have them as friends. I haven’t read the first two books, but I am sure they are as great as this one.
Privileged and ambitious attorney Teague Elliott is on the fast-track to getting everything he wants. All he has to do is stay on the straight and narrow and a high-profile political career is his for the taking. Until he wakes up naked with a Vegas showgirl...
Risa Clay has worked hard to put her showgirl past behind her and start fresh. But she owes ten grand to the wrong people, and to pay off her debt, she agrees to betray a stranger. . .but she ends up with a husband and guilty conscience.
Savvy and determined, she double-crosses the mob, goes on the run, and turns up on Teague’s doorstep armed with a dangerous secret, a marriage license, and the power to ruin his well-planed future. She thought using Teague again would be easy, but the passion that exploded between them in Vegas didn’t stay in Sin City and betrayal is the last thing on her mind.
Now Teague has to choose between the future he’s planned for all his life, or the one with Risa that he can’t turn away from.
