Kylie is having a hard time. She’s found out her boyfriend has cheated on her with a good friend of hers. To make matter worse, she is flunking chemistry. Luckily she now has a tutor. Jonathon is a genius when it comes to his school works but really bad when it comes to figuring out women. When he meets Kylie for a tutoring session, she shakes up his world like no one else. Kylie also finds him attractive. So after their tutoring session, they end up having a passionate night at Kylie’s place. Both regard that night as just a fling and probably won’t be seeing each other again, but later it turns out they will be seeing each other more than they think.
Shatter is an enjoyable book and I liked the story. I especially liked Jonathan. He is really sweet and caring towards Kylie. He takes his responsibility seriously and looks out for Kylie. He’s there when she needs him. He cheers her up with jokes when she is down and he is ready to be with her all the way. I really like his personality and he is totally hot. I loved reading in his point of view. That way I know what’s he was thinking.
I also liked Kylie, even though not as much as I liked Jonathon. But still she rocks. When she finds out she is pregnant, the thought of getting an abortion never crosses her mind. She is determined to raise the baby even if Jonathon will not lend his support. I liked her for that. Raising a baby when you are still in school is very difficult. So I liked her more when she made up her mind like that. And I also liked the fact that her family was so supportive of her. I do not know what I would do if I didn’t have my parents’ love and support. It is good that Kylie parents were there for her. If not, it would’ve been extra hard for her. She also has her friends. They look out for her and are there for her. I found her to be a very strong girl when she had to go through such a painful experience. No one should experience something like that.
Reading this book in one go, because you will want to know the ending. I couldn’t wait to see how it ended, even though I was a little bit sad when I turn the last page. Read this if you do not want to read anything too heavy. It’s a beautiful story, so give it a try.
