Laney Briggs thinks she’s finally ready to move on from an old heartbreak. She’s now engaged to the local veterinarian and has become a Pistol Rock deputy sheriff. Everything is going perfectly fine and the future seems bright, but when a case brings her ex back to town everything comes tumbling down before her eyes.
I don’t know how to describe my feelings for Pretty Reckless. I just loved it so much. Pretty Reckless intrigued me from beginning to end. It’s fill with action, mystery, suspense, and of course romance. Once I start to reading it was hard to stop.
Laney is such a fun and exciting character to read about and her story is very interesting. She’s a badass and doesn’t take crap from anybody. I love a heroine like that. She’s awesome and can stand up for herself, which is very admirable. Her life is going in the direction that she wants, even though she doesn’t feel connected to her fiancée like she does with Gunner, her ex. She still feels something for Gunner, but she is unwilling to admit it.
And Gunner of course is still the hot and sexy guy she remembers. Once she sees him the desires she buried deep inside of her comes back even though she tries to forget about it. Of course nothing goes as she plans.
Gunner ends up uncovering secrets and lies that drives her and her fiancée apart. Even though Gunner makes a mistake that hurt her in the past, still she forgives him. Who wouldn’t? He was so protective, so loving towards Laney. I do believe that he sincerely regrets what he did, so it’s a relief that she forgives him. And I can’t help but love Gunner also. I mean he’s perfect for Laney and despite what happed in the past he still love her. And besides he’s hot. Even his name is hot. He and Laney set the pages on fire and when they are together there isn’t a boring moment.
Pretty Reckless is unpredictable. When I thought I knew what was going on it turned out I didn’t. This book has excitement and action at every page. If you love action, mystery and romance then this is your type of book. I promise you won’t regret reading this. You will love Gunner and Laney. They make a wonderful team.
Welcome to Pistol Rock, Texas where everyone knows secrets last about as long as the sporadic west Texas rain showers.
Laney Briggs has long been considered reckless by the denizens of her hometown, but she’s finally turned it all around—she’s happily engaged to the local veterinarian and she’s become a Pistol Rock deputy sheriff. Everything’s fine and dandy—until a dead body turns up and her ex, Texas Ranger Gunner Wilson, decides to stick his boots into the town’s first murder case. Of course, the troublesome cowboy’s rugged good looks and T-shirt-straining muscles are already leaving Laney knee-deep in hot water, but she’ll be damned if she lets Gunner trample all over her turf. She’s decided that, instead of conflict, she wants a contented, steady life with her vet—a life in which Gunner Wilson and his seemingly endless ability to undermine her resolve and her libido plays no part. Still, it’s hard to keep her head as forbidden sparks ignite and suspicions arise between old rivals and old flames. And when the bodies start to pile up, Laney has to ask the lethal bad boy for a hand—and a truce in exchange for his help. But after uncovering the pack of lies surrounding not only her job but her heart… Having an ex-boyfriend as an ally might not be the best idea, but it’s certainly the most reckless, and Laney has always been pretty reckless…
