Darkest Flame: Part 3 of 4

A Dark Kings Novel

Finally, we have come to part three in the Darkest Flame series by Donna Grant. There are a total of four parts that make up the full book.

This portion has to be my favorite out of the entire first three parts and I was so happy with the result. I was skeptical that I would like the series after reading the first part, the second part had me pushing to like the series even more and part three finally convinced me that this series is well worth the shouting praise like most of Grant novels that I have read!

When reading the Darkest Flame series I felt like I was walking up a steppe slope. There were moments that seemed to have leaped off the pages at me and some that were a little duller. The closer I got to reaching the ending of the series the more I noticed how greatly Grant's writing started to appeal to me as the reader. The suspense heated up and the romance grew in the sense. Kellan was beyond ending his own life if it meant saving Deane and this was the kind of romance that I had been searching for from the start of the series and I was able to locate it.

The payoff was well worth it! The romance is what made me fall for this series in the end. My reviews of the series are slightly changing as I express my opinions on part three, but I still stand behind what I said in my previous reviews. If the entire series would have reflected book three I think that Darkest Flames would have been my all-time favorite series!

As a reader I always expect so much from Grant, because she has proven herself time and time again as the queen of paranormal. I do not expect to see flaws within a series or a standalone novel written by Grant. I know that she can deliver and book three is more than proof that Grant is capable of delivering to her readers! This only one of many reasons that she is one of my favorite paranormal authors!

I'm more than hooked on the dragon heroes that have made their impact on the paranormal universe this past year. I hope that the heroes are something that Grant will continue to write as I would like to read a further series from her featuring additional sexy, dragon heroes.

I recommend reading the Darkest Flame series and taking the time to actually read the series without skimming through any parts of the novellas. Part one is a bit slower, part two is when the pace of the novel is actually set and book three is nearly to die for! I do not regret reading this series in the least. If anything part three completely changed the course of my opinion of this series and as always I cannot wait to get my hands on the next series that Grant publishes!
