Christmas Brides

“Christmas Brides” is a book of four regency stories about finding true love during the Christmas season. I found the stories to be sexy, entertaining, comedic, and fun. Each story is compelling with plot twists and a steamy romance. I couldn't put the book down. Handsome, witty heroes, heroines who know their own minds, rude relatives, dastardly villains, and even a meddling cat create four romances worth every minute spent reading.

“One Hot Scot” by Suzanne Enoch is a charming story of love at first sight. “Once Upon a Christmas Scandal” by Alexandra Hawkins is sweet and romantic with a stubborn heroine, a kind hearted hero, and a murderess villain. “The Scandal Before Christmas” by Elizabeth Essex (my favorite) is a sweet story with an unexpected hero, clever dialogue, and Christmas miracles. “It Happened Under the Mistletoe” by Valerie Bowman is an amusing and humorous story of two unexpected lovers, and troublesome secondary characters. I didn't want “Christmas Brides” to end and I will be re-reading these stories around Christmas every year.

“One Hot Scot” by Suzanne Enoch – Julia Prentiss just wanted a nice Christmas in Scotland, but now finds herself lost in the Scottish highlands. She’s rescued by Duncan Lenox and when a storm traps them in a small cottage they discover a mutual passion that could save or destroy them.

“Once Upon a Christmas Scandal” by Alexandra Hawkins – Lady Ellen’s dowry has been increased just in time for her family’s Christmas party, bringing every eligible bachelor to her door. When she meets Lord Swainsbury she assumes he’s just like all the others. Ellen doesn’t realize Swainsbury never wanted her dowry.

“The Scandal Before Christmas” by Elizabeth Essex – Lieutenant Ian Worth finds himself in need of a wife before Christmas. Shy spinster, Anne Lesley has no marriage prospects, and agrees to marry Ian for the security he’ll afford her. But when a storm rolls keeping them in close quarters, they may just find passion and possibly true love.

“It Happened under the Mistletoe” by Valerie Bowman – Oliver Townsend and Cerian Blake have the same problem – their both trying to hide from their prospective suitors. When they agree to fake a courtship to keep the suitors at bay, they may find more than just friendship under the mistletoe.
