The Werewolf's Wife

As the Alpha leader of a werewolf pack, Ridge Addison, has very big shoes to fill. Pack numbers are dwindling and he has to show that he is a great leader to obtain new recruits. To do that, he has to marry and start a family to prove that he can lead the other members. The problem with this is that Ridge is already married to a woman that he left in Las Vegas twelve years ago after a one-night-stand that ended badly. When he finds his wife, Abigail, for a quickie divorce he learns that because of her witch heritage, her son has been kidnapped. She has forty-eight hours to bring a known vampire to the exchange site to save the life of her son. Ridge decides against his better judgment to help Abigail and bring her son home safely from his captors. Working with Abigail is difficult for Ridge because he finds that his wolf is still attracted to this beautiful witch and he is afraid that he may have found the family that he has wanted all along with the woman that he had left behind.

This is the first novel that I have read from Michele Hauf and overall I enjoyed the premise of the story. Ridge was a likeable character and a strong hero that was willing to fight for what he thought was right. I loved reading his scenes because he was the type of guy that most women would want in their life. Abigail, on the other hand, wasn’t a character that I could easily relate to. She was an immortal that seemed to think only about herself and didn’t seem overly upset when her son was kidnapped. I understand that she sent her son away to school to protect him but I would think that with her powers she would be better off with keeping him close. Just my opinion.

I loved that Ridge was so protective of Abigail and that he wanted to bond with her even after all those years. The only thing about their relationship was that I just couldn’t see the chemistry between them. It just felt as though the relationship was a little bit forced between the two of them. Even though I didn’t like Abigail, I still liked the story and I enjoyed reading about Ridge’s search to find a true family.
