Social media has become unsocial, Summit Avenue is swarming with reporters, would-be vampire/zombie killers and desperate emos begging to be turned and all Betsy knows is she has to stay true to who she is while looking good in this delightful undead story.
Queen Betsy, Sinclair and their friends are demanding reader’s attentions as her father and half-sister Laura out Betsy to the world causing lots of exciting chaos, so it’s a good thing she has help running hell. The well written scenes and details make it easy for readers to get caught up in all the spirited fun and drama as the strong, compelling and seriously quirky characters takes readers on a wild ride with the intriguing events ensuring that there is never a dull moment and lots of humorous dialogue and situations keeping readers ROTFL (rolling on the floor laughing) - sorry, Betsy, could resist.
Sinclair and Betsy’s romance is still going strong, throughout all the mayhem that is their life although there is a bit of trouble in paradise for these two but don’t worry that trouble doesn’t affect their super-hot lovemaking but it does cause a bit of emotional angst. The fast paced, smooth flowing plot keeps readers in high spirits throughout the story with lots of suspense, excitement, romance and humor and lots of spine tingling tension being caused from several different areas of course that is to be expected with everything that Betsy has going on in her life and those who would love to take her down.
Once again, Betsy and friends made my day with their usual hilarious offbeat humor that turns rough situations into fun. MaryJanice Davidson has such a gift for keeping me on my toes with lovable, original characters that add lots of surprises and excitement to the stories and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Note: The series is best read in sequence to get the full impact of Betsy’s personality and understanding of all the chaos that takes place in Betsy life.
New York Times bestselling author MaryJanice Davidson is back. So is Betsy Taylor, “everyone’s favorite vampire queen” (Bitten by Books) and this time Betsy’s going viral…
If Betsy Taylor has learned anything about ruling Hell it’s: 1) She can't do it alone, and 2) She doesn’t have to. She’s got the help of a devoted vampire king, a dateless zombie, an exhausted new mom, an unshowered cop, a bitchy ghost, a kindly dead priest, and her late stepmother (“Go Team Satan 2.0!”). But the latest major hurdle in her afterlife is so big she can’t even see it until it’s on YouTube.
Betsy’s father and half sister Laura (a former Antichrist with a grudge) have teamed up, for what sinister purpose Betsy can't imagine. The former Antichrist didn't take kindly to getting what she wished for, and has decided that's entirely the fault of the vampire queen. What that means for Betsy is trouble (more than usual, even) and possible exposure to an unsuspecting world.
Meanwhile Hell is having a deleterious effect on Betsy's friends ("I didn't think it was possible, but the damned are getting meaner."), the newly dead are confused about Hell's new rules ("A buddy system? Really?"), and the vampire king is trying to poach on Betsy's territory. Betsy loves her husband, but that's not the same as trusting him. Before long the king and queen of the vampires aren't speaking to each other, the mansion on Summit Avenue is a war zone, and Betsy's getting calls from a werewolf, a mermaid, and worst of all, her mother ("What do you mean you can't babysit?"). No one said life after death would be easy, but c'mon: this is ridiculous.
