Spinster Club Series Book 3
Great historical storyline and plot in this book by Christie Kelley. I couldn’t put it down. Lots of mysteries and sinister “diabolical” characters/plots to keep your attention as well as your desire to unveil the truths behind these very complicated characters that we learn to care for from the beginning of the book.
Upon his death bed, Elizabeth’s father confesses to her that he indeed was not her biological father. This is where Christie Kelley’s story begins as Elizabeth fights for her own claim to the only home she has ever known as well as the secrets to her deceased mother’s mysterious life. Into the equation enter Will and his siblings. Will’s only intention is to sell Elizabeth’s home, which he has inherited, and return immediately to America to marry his fiancé. Many twists and turns and intrigue keeps the reader coming back for more. In the end we discover if Elizabeth will ever have the family and home she always craved to belong to as well as the true “scandalous” secrets about her real mother and father.
Another intriguing character that I am left wondering about is Anthony Somerton. I hope that there might be an upcoming story about him as his character shines through his duality between good and bad boy image. I am truly looking forward to the next installment from Christie Kelley and her charmingly "bad boy" character, Anthony Somerton.
