The Cottages on Silver Beach

Haven Point

“A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are” - Richard Bach

That was roughly what happened with Megan and Elliot. They knew each other for years; through each lost and tragedies, unconsciously in love with one another.

“The Cottages on Silver Beach” is a blend of heartbreaking tale, perseverance, and moving [not to mention sweet] love story; starring a pair of charming yet unlikely characters. Megan and Elliot came with such a baggage that had me skeptical on whether they would ever reconcile their issue; they were practically on opposite sides on an unsolved case involving Megan’s sister in law. And I couldn’t even blame either side on what they believed as right!

It was painful [to see] both characters suppressing their mutual attraction, thinking it as preposterous. The dual voice from Megan’s and Elliot’s POV gave insight to the turmoil their situation caused both characters and I just felt for them, these star-crossed lovers who had been drifted for ages!!

I was torn between admiration of how mature Megan and Elliot in dealing with their issues yet frustrated over that same qualities. Elliot’s rigid stance especially vexed me. At the same time, there’s something about tough seasoned FBI agent who still blushed when praised [by others] that had me clutching my breast, awwing as I did so. Not to mention his obvious care of Megan’s grouchy pug. The overall package truly gave Elliot a swoon-worthy hero!

I tell you, once again RaeAnne Thayne’s way with words slew me. Her lead characters were so realistic and relatable, that it was exhilarating when the choice they finally took was both predictable yet a step up to - shall we say - an upgrade version of Megan and Elliot; ones ready to open the lock to their future together.

Without a doubt “The Cottages on Silver Beach” is another win to the “Haven Point” series. Not only it delivered a poignant coming together of frenemies Megan and Elliot, this book also made ways for intriguing development to Megan’s brother’s, Luke’s, unfinished business that I’m sure would make for really interesting story. And I for one just can’t wait for the series to continue!

Book Blurb for The Cottages on Silver Beach

Years after betraying her, he’s back in Haven Point…and ready to learn the truth

Megan Hamilton never really liked Elliot Bailey. He turned his back on her family when they needed him the most and it almost tore them all apart. So she’s shocked when Elliot arrives at her family’s inn, needing a place to stay and asking questions that dredge up the past. Megan will rent him a cottage, but that’s where it ends—no matter how gorgeous Elliot has become.

Coming back home to Haven Point was the last thing bestselling writer Elliot Bailey thought he’d ever do. But the book he’s writing now is his most personal one yet and it’s drawn him back to the woman he can’t get out of his mind. Seeing Megan again is harder than he expected and it brings up feelings he’d thought were long buried. Could this be his chance to win over his first love?
