When Leah Harvey goes looking for her groom before their Christmas Eve ceremony, she never expects to stumble upon him getting intimate with one of her bridesmaids. But honestly, this might be the perfect excuse for her to be a runaway bride. The only problem she finds is that she’s in a remote area of Scotland and it’s snowy and cold out. Plus, she’s only in her bridal gown. As she drives trying to escape her guests and having to face her fiancé, her car dies. Now she only has the option of either staying in her car to wait for someone to find her -even though no one knows where she is - or she can try to walk to the nearest building for help. Opting for the latter, she finds a castle off in the distance. When the occupant finally opens the door, Rob Cavelli is stunned when a woman, clad in a bridal gown, collapses at his feet. This isn’t how either of them planned on spending their Christmas Eve. What happens when Leah awakens?
Right from the start, I found this to be a fun story that I really enjoyed. The author created a storyline and characters that were believable to her readers. At first, I was thoroughly annoyed at Leah’s fiancé, but as the story progressed, I realized it was a blessing in disguise. I was happy that Leah found out before exchanging their vows. When she took off, I didn’t know what she was going to do since she didn’t have a coat and it was extremely cold and snowy out. When she stumbled upon Rob Cavello I felt that it was the perfect turn of events for the both of them. If you love reading stories set in Scotland, this is one you should definitely look into.
