This is a wolf-shifter paranormal romance with extreme bite, mystery, danger, suspense and romance. It’s all woven into a page turning delightful reading experience that makes “Wolf Reborn” a well written edition to the Westervelt Wolves series.
The males of the Westervelt Wolves have long suffered isolation and are plagued by a curse placed upon them due to the treachery of their alpha. Only now with the curse broken have they commenced their search for the unmated females sent away long ago.
I loved that the novel started off with a bang and just kept on delivering. It was refreshing to read a novel that included intricate and detailed character developments for its minor characters in addition to the hero and heroine. The author’s attention to details of Faith’s missing memories, her childhood traumas and her feelings of not belonging, Theo struggles with delirium and hallucination, his self imposed exile, Tristan’s iron will, Cullen’s steadfast resolve, Rex’s youthfulness, Summer’s second sight and AZ’s quirkiness all breathed life and personality in the characters and the story-line.
The in-depth dialog between Theo and Faith and their interaction with the other characters added to the delivery of a well-defined theme and plot that seamlessly carried throughout the novel. The heat index between Faith and Theo was just what I was expecting and Rebecca Royce delivered in spades…hot and spicy with a little edge.
While there were minor plot holes and maybe a few implausible or unexplainable occurrences that existed in the novel, these missing elements extended the possibilities of another installment rather than detracted from the story-line.
A lone wolf is a dangerous creature, until he meets his mate. Then he’ll become lethal to protect her.
Faith Anderson never asked to be a wolf shifter, but one strange encounter with the Westervelt Wolves and she suddenly has a past she knows nothing about and a future wrought with danger. No one is more disappointed than she to discover that the island does not hold a mate for her…that is, until she collides with Theo Kane, the missing prince of the Westervelt Wolves who has chosen isolation to save his pack from what he believes are his insane tendencies.
Theo couldn’t imagine anything worse than the near death experience that left him scarred and forever changed. Until some of the same things start happening to Faith. Now he has no choice but to face what he has avoided for over a year if he doesn’t want the past to repeat itself, this time taking Faith along for the ride. Together they will battle demons, invisible wolves, and worst of all his father to find their eternal love.
But if the price is eternity, are they willing to risk it all.
