A Howl for a Highlander

Heart of the Wolf, #10

Another fun and sexy read from Terry Spear! The Queen of shifter romance has done it again. Whether it be wolf or jaguar, this author is one of the best in her genre. Howl for a Highlander is the sizzling love story of sexy Scottish werewolf, Duncan MacNeill and his American she-wolf, Shelley Campbell.

The youngest MacNeill brother has come to the island paradise (Grand Caymans) to catch the crook that stole all his clans’ money. He vows not to let anything - or anybody - distract him from his duty. As fate would have it, the first person he encounters is the stunning American she-wolf, Shelley Campbell. Duncan would like to get to know her better but since wolves mate for life he must be careful that he doesn't end up accidentally mated. Circumstances conspire against the sexy Scot when he is forced into rooming with Shelley. Now, you know how hard it is for two hot blooded wolves to keep their paws to themselves…especially when they find themselves in close quarters and in the ocean and in the forest. And most every place they find themselves, lol. But Duncan isn't the only wolf who has his eyes on the pretty she-wolf.

Howl for a Highlander is an awesome shifter romance. It was fun watching as Duncan inevitably fell for his feisty American wolf. The stalwart warrior may have thought his first and only priority was his clan. But his feelings changed real fast when Shelley's safety was threatened. There were some light and humorous moments as well as the sizzling love scenes. And devoted readers get to see one of the villain's from Ian and Julia's story finally gets his comeuppance. I also like that Duncan isn't portrayed as a filthy rich hero who sweeps in to save the heroine. Shelley kind of rescued Duncan in that she “rented” Duncan a room in her villa. Spear's shifters are different in that she doesn't give them a "predestined “or "fated” mate scenario. They have to fall in love and earn love in return. As a result, her stories seem less forced than some in this genre...giving a more romantic presence. If you're in the mood for a fun shifter romance then I recommend trying this awesome story. I guarantee you won't regret it and that, like me, you'll be hooked for life.
