I was wondering how I would feel about Dmitri in this book as he didn't present well in the story he was introduced in; stalker, mob boss, kidnapper and overall not nice. He was so not that guy. His mother is to blame, in my opinion. He was raised in a dangerous world and you would think he would be timid, but the other route was taken. He's convinced he's invincible (and sometimes appears to be), he's confident, arrogant and a tad bit narcissistic. And while he may be a little belittling to women, he's not malicious about it. He's Russian, and that sums it all up.
Teena is instantly attracted but bothered that she is "second choice" since Dmitri initially kidnapped her sister to marry. And what woman wouldn't be offended? But apparently Teena was the right one all along, her identical twin just confused the issue. Once Dmitiri meets Teena, he knows his error and sets out to correct it the proper way, no kidnapping involved. What's that saying about best intentions?
This was a delightfully sassy read with humor and snark and certifiable family members. Teena, being from a southern family herself, saw absolutely nothing wrong with Dmitri's family and as such instantly enamored herself to his sister. His mother might require a little more work, though. Or an introduction to her father. The story was fast-paced and was a twisted sort of courtship as Dmitri and Teena fought for their lives in the middle of nowhere during a Russian winter. The epilogue provided at the end was poetic and further secured Dmitri in my heart as a bonafide nice guy. Must read.
When at first you don’t succeed—turn to abduction.
It’s all in a day’s work when this Siberian tiger meets the woman he wants.
An accidental kidnapping? Check.
A forced marriage? Check.
A virgin bride? Damn. There go his plans for seduction and here comes the pressure into making her first time perfect. Because everyone knows that's the one she'll remember, forever. Gulp.
Add in a plane crash as well as hunters out to capture them and the heat is truly on.
Can this Siberian tiger meet the challenge?
