Rosey Red with Blood on Her Hands

The Albion Book 1

The year is 1892, and Rosey Rydall is a check in girl at THE ALBION, a moderate class hotel on Carlyle Street.

In addition to her duties at the hotel, Rosey also runs an informal body selling business with the town coroner, Anton Larsen.

Rosey has many admirers, and two men are vying for her attention. One is Anton Larsen, her partner in crime and a man of quality. The other is Marty Burke, a much married, admired police officer who waits for the death of his chronically ill wife.

Rosey also has a strong, loving, and trusting relationship with Thaddeus Anderton, the owner of THE ALBION and several other hotels in the area, including a highly successful clandestine speakeasy operating out of the basement of THE ALBION. It is a mutually beneficial relationship.

As Rosey grows closer to Anton and anticipates a future with him, Marty’s wife finally dies. Marty then tells Rosey in no uncertain terms, that if she does not wed him, he will not only bring her down for her shady dealings, he will also bring down Anton and Thaddeus along with her. Now threatened by a man she is growing to despise, Rosey must take bold and decisive actions to rid herself of Marty Burke, and protect those she loves.

ROSEY RED WITH BLOOD ON HER HANDS is an excellent introduction to THE ALBION series. It is a decadent peek into the Victorian era, and the little-known speakeasies which were popular during this time. ROSEY RED WITH BLOOD ON HER HANDS is not only well written, it is sexy enough to make you blush. It is written without a lot of old style language or the stuffiness that comes along with this particular era. The character of Lily Rydall, Rosey’s beloved little sister, nearly steals the show. I truly look forward to the next book in this historical series, and I recommend it. It is unlike any historical you’ll read this year.
