In “Wyoming Winter” we're taken to the Cowboy State of Wyoming and we get a book with wants, needs, and betrayal.
Trust is an issue for J.C. Calhoun. He's been betrayed and he knows his ranch land is the only thing he can trust in. He is having strong trust issues. His girlfriend had another man and became pregnant. He’s had betrayal after betrayal. Then a little girl shows up and J.C. finds that his land may not be as important. Who is this little girl? Does she have some connection to his betrayal? Maybe a connection to the woman, Colie Jackson, who broke his heart?
Colie needs Calhoun. But can they work through the lies of the past and find forgiveness for each other? She needs him for her daughter. But is there something else there?
The author gives you more in this tale. On top of the betrayal, criminals are approaching as the Wyoming winter becomes more and more harsh.
Now it's up to the reader to determine if Colie and J.C. can face what is before them. That will mean coming to grips with the past and moving forward. They are both hurt and really need each other. But will the outlaws take over before they can get a grip on what's really going on?
In “Wyoming Winter” you get suspense and a story that has realistic aspects to it. You are right in the thick of the mystery and lies. But the number one question is, who is the little girl's father? Even though I felt as a reader, I was in the midst of it all, I also felt that the story was in slow motion. It was like a play where the characters were just making the motions. They were not fully invested. It didn't move fast enough for me. I wanted action that didn't give the reader time to pause. For me, it was an OK read. But it didn't give me that ZIP I would have liked to have had.
