Party Games, Book 3

Lachlan McDermott is on his way home from meetings in New York City. He wants nothing more than to set back, relax and have a drink. As he drives up the street to his home, there are cars lined along the road. It had better not be at his house as he told his sister, who lives with him, no parties while he was gone. However, apparently she didn’t listen and Lachlan can’t even park in his driveway. Seeing a spot opening up he maneuvers his way that direction on to have his bike cut off by a car. Ready to blast the driver, he is taken back when the woman of his teenage fantasies steps out.

Cameron Winters modeled when she was younger by the name of Kole. She hasn’t been Kole though for years and has tried to keep that part of her past in her past. Cameron now goes by Cam and is a photographer. She’s been wanting to meet Lachlan after hearing about him from his sister, a model. Maybe that’s she dressed more like Kole for the party and why she seems to be acting more like Kole than Cam.

Due to the urging of his best friend, Lachlan finds himself playing Twister and his sister’s party. Joining him is Cam. While Lachlan’s mind may be telling him that she means nothing to him as an adult, his body is saying something totally different. The crush he felt as a teenager seems to be just as strong as an adult.

There are two major problems with this though. First, Lachlan doesn’t date models. He doesn’t trust them. Two, Cam wants to be wanted for herself, not Kole. Can they figure this out?

This is the third book in the Party Games series. Each has a different childhood party game as a part of it. None are needed to be read prior to another as they all start at the same party but with different leading characters. The first two books are concerning friends who arrived to the party together but they are not totally intertwined. This one is totally separate from those two and gives a possible idea of where the next book might be coming from.

Lachlan and Cam are more complicated characters than usually found in such a series. Lachlan’s stepmother was a model and she tried to seduce him as a teen. This gave modeling a negative image and had Lachlan not trusting them. Cam was sexually assaulted by her bodyguard. She’s leery about letting any man close to her. To work these issues out, they are going to have to trust each other and share. Things neither are good with.

The story line is solid. Things don’t happen immediately but are spread out over several days. The paparazzi make an expected appearance. After all, Lachlan is a wealthy playboy and Cam a reclusive model which make both interesting to the public. Wealth, power and seclusion all play a role in the storyline making it believable.

The romance goes from sweet to sexy to hot. As the relationship progresses so does the heat. These are well written scenes that will have you wanting more.

These are fairly short books. However, there is a lot of good reading and loving in those few pages. They are perfect for that lazy afternoon on the beach, as long as you can jump in the cold water every now and then or for whenever you find yourself needing a shortish story with a good story line.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this series and this story is definitely an asset to it. Great characters, good plot and a good ending makes this book just about perfect. I can’t wait for the next book in the Party Games!

Book Blurb for Twister

Getting the upper hand—and foot—was never this naughty.

As the man who snared the reins of his father’s global media empire and propelled it to new heights, Lachlan McDermott is accustomed to people jumping to obey his every command. He knows he is painted as handsome, arrogant and influential with the power of information at his control. But no one knows he’s got a weakness. Only one. And now, that weakness is in his house. Braless.

Über successful fashion photographer Cameron Winters used to be the super-model known only as Kole. But Kole dropped out of sight a long time ago. Only one thing can bring Cameron out of her self-imposed exile from public life: a man who doesn’t know she exists.

The trouble is, when Cameron comes face to face with Lachlan at an exclusive Sydney party, he immediately brings out the “Kole” in her. And Kole doesn’t bow down to anyone. Not even the one man who monopolizes her fantasies.

When they’re pitted against each other on the Twister mat, surrender isn’t part of the deal, and getting tangled up is only the beginning. Especially when their secrets keep getting in the way.

Warning: Read in private. Contains a sexy, brooding, smoldering, dominating Australian Alpha male hero who will make you want to take your clothes off and beg to play.
