Seven Nights to Forever by Evangeline Collins tells the tale of a loving sister who goes to extreme lengths to keep her younger brother supported while she struggles to save his inheritance. Forced to sell her body, Rose finally arrives at an arrangement that she can endure, if not look forward to. One week a month, she sells her services at a high class brothel. Her tolerance for her situation is tested when she finally meets a man who sees her as a person instead of an object. James Archer has been trapped in a loveless marriage by the machinations of his father who dreams of having a titled aristocrat in the family. James has lived without love for the past three years with an aristocratic wife who despises him and flaunts her own lovers but who will provide access to her world for James’ sister. James is wonderfully successful in his shipping business but has finally tired of the moratorium on his lovelife and decides to try the brothel for a single night of relief and encounters a woman who is as beautiful inside as out. Both of them are caught in impossible situations but they are inexplicably drawn to one another both physically and spiritually. Each has someone who can be irrevocably harmed by their indiscretion so they have to decide whether to finally be selfish or to continue existing in the lives that they have tolerated for so long.
This was a lovely and heartwrenching story that gives the story of those who experience the collateral damage incurred by the machinations of their parents. Rose was faced with an impossible dilemma and the solution that she has undertaken will tarnish her forever. James has sacrificed himself on the altar of his father’s desire to join the aristocracy. Both sound terribly melodramatic but the author manages to convey the utter desperation and incandescent joy each experiences while causing the reader to become totally enthralled by their story. Wonderfully sensual scenes and engaging characters make a terrifically romantic read but keep the tissues handy.
The author of Her Ladyship's Companion once again pushes the erotic boundaries of Regency romance.
Destitute after her father's death, Rose Marlowe has debts to settle and a younger brother to support. But she also possesses a matchless beauty-one that could command quite a price. Now, every month, Rose spends one week at a decadent London brothel, where she's become a sought-after prize.
Then one night she meets a wealthy merchant. Handsome, kind and compassionate, with a lonely soul that matches her own, James Archer is not her typical client. Falling in love with a client, never mind a married one, is unthinkable. Yet Rose can't help but lose herself as one night becomes seven-and seven nights leads to a chance at forever.
