Siren's Song is a fabulous continuation of Janie's story. This was a definite, don't put it down read, that had me laughing out loud at times. The romance and love scenes were definitely spiced up a bit more, but kept tame enough at the same time to please those who like a peek in the door but aren't quite ready to see the all the action in living color.
I've got to say, I totally fell in love with Chance in this book. The way he kept appearing and protecting Janie, usually from herself, was very sexy. He came across as a guy who's head over in heels with her, even if she hemmed and hawed about her feelings for him.
It was nice to see other characters back like Sven and Mia, and of course dear old mom, queen of the fairies. There was also some nice setup/innuendo throughout the story that let the reader know, Janie's story is far from over.
I have only 2 small complaints. The first, I didn't learn more about sirens like I expected to. Will Janie get a tail if she goes swimming? Can she breathe underwater? Details please! And my second problem--Janie protested too much that she didn't want Chance and yet kept getting hot and heavy with him, while still dating Vance. Not nice. But, I'll admit, it kept me reading to see what would happen next.
All in a all, a very enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book (or two!) in this series.
PS. I loved the way Vickie threw them for a loop at the end!
Janie Smith is ready to get her life in order. She just needs to control her powers, feed without killing someone, deal with a sick witch, a vampire boyfriend committed by fate to another, and an ancient serial killer’s ghost who has settled inside an unsuspecting human. She must also put up with Queen Mab’s demand that she accept an elfin fiancé, while dodging Chance, the man who claims to be her soul mate, and help her daughter adjust to life after divorce. Seriously, not a big deal.
More Odd Stuff is breaking out all because of a Siren’s Song.
