Current Release: Hero Unleashed

Describe your current release in two sentences?

The princess, her guard and the assassin. Who will succumb to temptation first?

What have you had to give up to pursue your writing career?

I've tried not to give up anything, but housekeeping, yeah...that kind of gets pushed to the wayside. I also don't get to read for pleasure like I used to.

What are you working on?

I'm working on the next Heroes of Saturn book, which is about Dhavin. He's way more lighthearted than Lucian, and there were more opportunities to be funny, which was great. I'm also working on a short story featuring Jorges. I wanted to know what happened after he approached the woman at the bar.

What is your ultimate writing goal?

I'm not different than many other writers and wish to be able to write full time. Yes, awards and accolades would be nice, but I really just want to produced my books and meet the people who want to read them.

Do you have a comfort food? What is it?

Ohhhh, this one is hard since I try to watch my diet. Sometimes I watch it get out of control. Ha! Cheese and crackers is always a favorite, and cake. Ooo, and brownies too. Basically any cake-like product is good.

Where is your favorite place to write?

There is a pub near my house where I love to go. There's no internet, I don't watch the T.V.s and refills are free. It's also a great place to people watch, and on occasion someone will buy me a drink. Way better than a coffee house.

What career fields have you worked in?

I attended beauty school and high school at the same time, so when I graduated I was a hair and make-up artist. I then went into the hotel industry and worked in Vegas and the northwest. One sees a lot of crazy things working the graveyard shift on Halloween night in Vegas. I also went to culinary school and as a kid worked as a stage hand.

What are your plans for the next year? Any books you are looking forward to?

This year is all about writing more books. Not much different than previous years. I will be at Romanticon and the Emerald City Writers Conference in October. The fall is going to be very busy for me.

How was your road to publication?

My journey to publication was as I expected, with a few surprises. I knew making that first sale would be difficult and I had a lot to learn about the industry. Fortunately the wait was only years and not decades. I still have a lot to learn though.

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

It's hard to choose just one. I think it would have been fantastic to be in Times Square during V E Day, and at the Woodstock festival, but only if I had a force field that kept me clean. Last summer in Edinburgh was the Great Highland Games and Clan Gathering. I really wanted to go to that. And I would want to travel to see Elvis and the Beatles at their first big concerts.

The romance market is solid because of the readers. It's their voraciousness that lets all of us writers do what we love. Thank you readers and I hope to meet you in person.
