Current Release: Bounce - In Print
Describe your current release by starting out with "In a world".
In a world where everything seems picture perfect, the reality is anything but. Sabrina Jacobs has a successful career, a famous, sexy husband, two children, a house in an affluent suburb and a shoe collection worthy of a magazine spread. Too bad it’s all a façade. It has been almost a year since her husband admitted he had an affair with a younger and bouncier coworker and Sabrina can no longer keep up the charade. Follow Sabrina as she tries to rein in her out-of-control life by kicking her husband out, chucking her career and even firing her too-cute-for-the-job nanny. But can she survive life as a suddenly stay-at-home- mom in the land of wine and play dates and Botox lunches? Maybe her kid’s dreamy young French instructor is just what Sabrina needs to take her mind off her problems. Well, not if her husband has anything to say about it. Will Sabrina be able to forgive and still be true to herself?
What are you working on?
Right now I’m excited to be working on a sequel to BOUNCE. I really enjoyed being in Sabrina’s world and that town held a rich cast of characters that are still speaking to me. My mind is churning with ideas that I’m eager to get down. Readers can expect lots more shenanigans from the not so happily sexy suburban marrieds.
Getting a book to market often takes a village. Who has helped you on the way?
You are right, it does take a village and I have been blessed to have a wonderful village supporting me. I have had a couple of longstanding and amazing critique partners who read my work and are honest and forthright with their advice while being caring. They are invaluable to me. And since BOUNCE was my first indie, I quickly found out how important having a great team is. I’ll forever be grateful to my fantastic cover designer and formatter who helped me get this project to print. I’ll also be forever grateful to those who gave me the extra push or kind word behind the scenes when things got a little tough. Those small nudges meant so much.
Do you have a favorite or interesting reader meet moment?
I sure do. This was last year and I was newly published with my 1st book called THROUGH THE LENS out from Crimson Romance. My husband and I bowl weekly with our church group and I was carrying my new promo cards to give out to my group. Well this week, I spotted another group bowling on the far end of the alley and I particularly noticed a group of women congregating at a back table. Before leaving the alley I nervously went up to them and gave them some of my cards for THROUGH THE LENS. Well the following week one of these lovely women came in with my book for me to sign. ME! It was the 1st time someone who was not a family member or a friend asked me to sign a book. I almost cried. I hugged the woman so hard and my husband took pictures while my church team clapped and cheered. It was the best writer moment ever!
What is your favorite way to procrastinate?
Oh gosh procrastination happens to be my middle name and the internet is my downfall. It would seem that Twitter was made for a person like me who is so easily distracted by the new and the shiny. I always find my way into a twitter conversation when the blank page is haunting me. Another way I procrastinate is by starting on a new craft project. I happen to be a knitter with lots of unfished projects on my needles.
So many thanks to my supportive readers and thank you so much for having me here at Night Owl Reviews. It’s been a real honor. BOUNCE is available now in both print and digital formats.
