Current Release: Strain
Describe your current release in two sentences?
Post-apocalyptic m/m erotic romance with shades of dub-con and BDSM. A boy destined to die gets a last desperate chance to survive, but only if he lets go of everything he feels is right.
What are you working on?
I just finished an m/m whodunit and I'm not debating between the prequel to Strain, or the next book in my Saugatuck series.
Getting a book to market often takes a village. Who has helped you on the way?
Sarah Frantz, my editor at Riptide, of course. Danielle Poiesz, who also worked on edits. LC Chase, our art director and layout guru, and Keturah Jenkins, our marketing director. On the personal front, there's my husband, of course, and a number of friends who form my cheerleading and beta reading squad. Some other authors have also been hugely encouraging: Angela Benedetti helped me brainstorm Strain, PD Singer has always been there for advice, Leta Blake is a marvelous sounding board, and Tami Veldura beta read for me.
Do you have a favorite or interesting reader meet moment?
I haven't actually met all that many readers, yet, though there were some great encounters at GayRomLit 2013 in Atlanta, including one reader who'd read the last book of my Impulse series for the Rainbow Awards and was desperate to get her hands on the first two.
What is your favorite way to procrastinate?
Tumblr, mostly. I can spend hours there.
Thanks very much to the readers, especially those who have been really enthusiastic in their anticipation and support of this book. It's been a long time coming, and their energy has kept me moving forward. Stay tuned, also, for the last two installments of my The Professor's Rule series with Heidi Belleau, coming March 3, and Saugatuck Summer, an m/m contemporary coming-of-age romance, coming from Riptide on May 19.
