5 Awesome Puppy Blogs From Lucy Gilmore, Author of Puppy Christmas
If you’re like me, then a large part of your day is centered on family members of the four-legged variety. My two large dogs and one small (but very voluble) cat take up just as much time as my human family, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I also spend more time than is good for me on the internet. Fortunately, there are dozens of fun and insightful websites, blogs, and social media feeds that focus on dogs. What better way to enjoy the best of both worlds than to spend some time with online canines?
Although the internet is basically bottomless when it comes to finding adorable puppy content, these five accounts stand out as favorites.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People: This blog was a great source of information and inspiration as I wrote Puppy Christmas, which features a service puppy-in-training for a young girl with Pendred syndrome. The work that the employees and volunteers do to take adorable puppies and turn them into service dogs is nothing short of amazing.
Does the Dog Die: This is the most important website on the internet, and you should bookmark it immediately. All you do is enter the title of a movie (or book, TV show, etc.), and it will tell you whether or not the dog dies. For anyone who’s like me, this is essential and vital information to have before you consume any puppy-centered media.
I’ve Pet That Dog: If you want wholesome puppy goodness (with picture evidence), then make I’ve Pet That Dog a part of your regular blog roundup. It’s literally just a daily update of the dogs this ten-year-old girl encounters and (you guessed it) pets. She also has a Twitter feed where she tells you a little about each four-legged bundle. If I could go back in time and become this girl, I would do it. She’s amazing.
Can You Pet the Dog: This fun and irreverent Twitter feed that lets you know whether or not you can pet the pixelated dogs in your favorite video games. If you love your canines in games and well as in person, it’s a fun way to stop and say hello.
Ringo Swims a Lot: This one is an Instagram feed rather than a blog post, but it never fails to bring a smile to my face. Ringo is a dog who loves the water so much that he not only swims (a lot), but he launches himself into the water at full speed every. single. time. Oh, that we could all find something we love with this much enthusiasm.
What about you? Where do you go to find dogs and puppies online?
