I was born in Connecticut to Ukrainian immigrants. I didn't speak English when I went to kindergarten. I've earned a living washing dishes, stocking department store shelves, teaching English in Japan, and managing international investments. My short story debut was published by Mulholland Books in the MWA anthology VENGEANCE in April, 2012.
I will donate 50% of my royalties from THE BOY FROM REACTOR 4 during its first month of publication in March, 2013, to Children of Chernobyl International, and 10% of all royalties thereafter. This organization funds volunteer surgical missions to Ukraine to help victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and save children's lives. The people of Ukraine and Chernobyl helped inspire this novel, and this is an opportunity for me to show my appreciation.
