Pia Thompson leads the normal single life but she wants the typical life a married one. So she decides to go on a singles tour through Europe to see if that can help her.
During the tour they are in Iceland she realizes that something is not quite all that it seems. A gentleman she is talking to gets all in a fuss about some ruins they are going to see. He proclaims her to be Ilargi and tells his son to stay away from her and for her to stay away from the ruins as they that they are bad.
Many things are happening on the tour. One of her tour mates, Denise, has been complaining during the tour about another tour mate Magda. He says that she has been making too much noise with her newfound friend Raymond. Later on Pia comes out of a bookstore that she bumps into a young French lady who is looking for another bookstore named the Zenith. That store has dancing books. Pia drops her books. The lady helps her pick up the things she dropped and then they part ways. A bit later when Pia is trying to find her way back to her hotel room she is startled by a gentleman and once again drops her books. As he helps her pick up her things he finds a moonstone on a cord that fell out of one of her books. This makes him think she is “Zorya”. One of his religion, so to speak. She has purchased the book the young lady had been looking for without knowing it and the stone had been inside. He proceeds to steer her towards and inside a building, which is their church. She is told that she needs to marry him for her powers to become complete. While running from Mattias the gentleman that mistook her for the Zorya she starts seeing ghosts and realizes that when the ghosts are around the moonstone glows. When she winds up down near the dock she grabs a gentleman and kisses him on the cheek to hide from Mattias and in doing so she encounters another ghost.
The gentleman she is kissing happens to be Alec, who grabs her and puts her in a car. Alec informs Kristoff that she is the Zorya and she has the stone. She is seeing the ghosts as well. She informs both that they are wrong as is Mattias who she is running from. As she is running from them a bit later she runs back into the real Zorya, Anniki, and she explains to Pia exactly what the brotherhood is and what they do. Back in her hotel room that evening Alec seduces. He lets her know how beautiful he finds plump women. The next morning Pia finds Anniki dying in her bathroom and is accused of killing her. But Pia leaves before she can be taken into custody. Luckily Alec and Kristoff are mysteriously there to take her to safety. Pia is now the real Zorya because Anniki passed the job on to her. The ghosts are now flocking to her again. What will she do next!
Katie MacAlister is an amazing author who never ceases to amaze her fans with any story that she writes. She pulls you into the story with each and every page, making you feel like you are right there with the characters. The characters are bold and full of life, and the romance is hot and spicy as well. This book is definitely going into my collection of Katie MacAlister books.
