Rhiannon Castle is a D'anu Witch who knows nothing of her parents who left her with her aunt Aga years ago. The only thing that she knows is that they left her there because they didn't want her. Because of the evil inside of her or so said her Aunt, which she would later come to find out was not true. Her Aunt Aga kicked her out when she was eighteen without a cent to her name, and now all she has is her D'anu Coven sisters and a bit of something she has saved up. Now she also has to deal with Keir Tuatha D'Danann and his brethren. Keir seems to think she is supposed to be his mate and she is not happy about that but something captivating and mystical about him does seem to draw her to him. But they must put that behind them for the moment and team together to battle the evil goddess Ceithlenn that has escaped from the Underworld.
Caithlenn plans are to bring her husband Balor up from the underworld and reign death and destruction on the world by any means possible. She is causing destruction and chaos by eating humans and taking their souls as well with the help of two of her demon and Fomorri helpers. The more she eats the stronger she grows which helps her reach her goal of bringing Balor into the world.
The D'anu and the D'Danann are going to need more help if they are going to destroy or send her back to the nether regions. But Keir and Rhiannon need to other world to meet with the other councils to see if they will help. They both get a bit flustered when told know by the great council. Once back in San Francisco they find that the evil goddess has hit again and they must find a way to counter her once and for all. The Great Guardian summons them to other world after another large battle with the evil goddess. This time they are to meet with the side of their family that Keir and Rhiannon have never met before the Mystwalkers and the Drow. Keirs father has never let his Mystwalkers mother see him and when the truth comes out Keir is a bit upset by it. But they ask the great council of the Mystwalkers to help them with their burden anyway.
When Rhiannon learns that she is the Drow princess she is none too happy she thinks that the Drow elves are evil only and must have it explained to her that they like the D'Dannan do what is best for their people but sometimes that may seem like it is evil.
Cheyenne McCray shows the best work between good and evil in Wicked Magic. The characters are molded perfectly especially Rhiannon, Keir and Galia to each other and they play off each other in the story very well. Including their strengths and weaknesses are shown very well and will weave their way into your heart like they did mine with each giggle, romantic gesture and argument. Wicked Magic is sure to delight and captivate with each turn of the page. I know I will be picking each book up that Cheyenne McCray turns out she is a very talented writer and will be on my favorites shelf for a long time.
Rhiannon Castle is a D'Anu witch whose is a D'Anu witch whose Coven sisters know nothing of the Shadows that lurk within her. Rhiannon can't reveal the truth to anyone-least of all Keir, a rugged warrior soldier who walks into Rhiannon's life and awakens her to a wanton reckless desire.
Keir's Tuatha D'Danann Tuatha D'Danann brethren are the only real family he has ever known. He trusts no one-until he is sent to San Francisco and meets Rhiannon, the one woman with fire enough to tame him. Every seductive encounter convinces Keir that she belongs with him-even though Rhiannon knows her powers could put him in peril.
And then a new threat rises from the depths of the Underworld. When a demon goddess unleashes her evil upon our world, Rhiannon's secret could prove the ultimate weapon in this epic battle-or forge a pathway to destruction for the only man she's ever loved.
