Romeo and Juliet

William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is retold by Jaqueline Ritten in an easy to understand manner that did not take away from Shakespeare’s original wording or meaning in any way. She even uses some of his phrases in her writing to emphasize the romantic aspects even more. I felt she really captured the romance and ambiance of this Shakespearian classic. It has always been one of my favorite Shakespearian classics and she really did it justice.  For those that would rather read Romeo and Juliet in its original form the book does come in two parts Ritten’s and Shakespeare’s.

The Montague’s and Capulet’s are at war with each other and they have been for many years. Romeo and Juliet have fallen deeply in love with each other at first sight and, even though they know that their families will never allow them to be together. They vow that nothing will keep them apart other than death.

Will the two young lovers find a way to end their families’ feuding and be together happily or will they be pulled apart? What will be the fated of dear Romeo and Juliet?
