Chapterhouse - Dune
I found the final book of the Dune series to be just as intense and compelling as the last six novels in the series. Frank Herbert has such depth and richness in his characters that you almost can feel what they are feeling. His attention to detail is astounding and it would make reading the whole series over again most enjoyable.
The Bene Gesserit have been targeted by the Honored Matres. The Honored Matres want something the Bene Gesserit have. They want their technology and methods. They are slowly eradicating the Bene Gesserit, planet by planet in search for this information. Mother Superior Odrade of the Gesserit and other Gesserits are on the Chapterhouse planet and are slowly turning it into another Dune. They are hoping that their plan will save them.
All but one of the Bene Tleilax has been destroyed. Their control over the spice production did not save them from the Honored Matres as they hoped it would. The Tleilax survivor is in captivity of the Bene Gesserit along with all of the knowledge he has. Scytale uses the knowledge he has as a bargaining too with the Bene Gesserit.
Will the Bene Gesserit be able to complete their plan? Will the Honored Matres get the information they seek and wipe out the Bene Gesserit?
Book Blurb for Chapterhouse - Dune
The desert planet Arrakis, called Dune, has been destroyed. Now, the Bene Gesserit, heirs to Dune’s power, have colonized a green world—and are tuning it into a desert, mile by scorched mile.
Chapterhouse Dune is the last book Frank Herbert wrote before his death: A stunning climax to the epic Dune legend that will live on forever.
