Theresa Meyers gives us a sweet and romantic story in “A Vampire’s Mistress”. She shows us how deep love can really be between two people even if things don’t go originally as planned. I really enjoyed this book and will read anything of Meyers that I can find or that comes across my desk.
Gabriel Forrester has been sent to rescue Marina DeMornay from vampire hunters who are holding her hostage. While trying to rescue her he gets captured himself but makes it look like he is weaker than he really was. So when they put him in his cell he is able to phase through the wall and find her easily. It tugged at his heartstrings to see her in the condition she was in and what they had been doing to her. It wasn’t going to be as easy as he thought to get her out now that she was in this weakened state. He gives her a bit of his ichor to strengthen her.
Marina explains after they escape what she thinks is going on and what Gabe hears he really doesn’t like. But he needs to make sure she is safe as that is his first priority.
What is the big secret that Marina knows that the vampire hunters had her for? Does Marina still love Gabe as much as she used too?
Six years ago Gabriel Forrester gave his life—literally—for Marina DeMornay, choosing to become a vampire to be with her. Then Marina was compelled to become mistress to a vampire prince…and Gabriel disappeared when she needed him the most.
But when Marina’s consort is killed and she’s captured, Gabriel is sent by the Vampire High Council to rescue her…and they become bound together even more strongly than before. With their enemies still on the loose, can Marina and Gabriel put the past behind them long enough to save both vampires and humanity from their enemies and reclaim the passion they once shared?
