If it hadn't been for my buddy Rachael telling me how much she wanted to read this one, I wouldn't have gotten it and I'm so glad I did! First all of, this is the story of Heather, a sensible, sane Accountant and Tony, a wild womanizer - complete opposites. They hail from the same town of Plano, Texas but it wasn't until they were both in Vegas that they actually talked to each other. Heather's there because she's one of her cousin's bridemaids and they're celebrating the wedding and Tony's there because he wants to buy a bar but unfortunately his friend couldn't give him the 20 grand he needed to pay for the bar so he got this crazy idea about going to Vegas and gambling to see if he could win the money he needed. A crazy plan, sure but he never thought he'd bump into Heather who ends up playing lady luck and wins Tony's money, they celebrate with a lot of champagne and next thing you know they wake up married - Can you say oops?
Immediately they tried to get an annulment but what they soon found out that in Heather's drunken glory she called her mother and told her she just had gotten married to Tony so of course her mom told everyone and they all expected Heather and Tony to come back to Plano happily married. Tony gets this crazy (are you seeing a pattern here?) idea that he and Heather should play husband and wife for about a month to repay her for giving him the 20 grand, Heather agrees and next thing you know they're moving in together.
What neither of them bargained for was their growing attraction or even developing feelings for each other and that, of course, only manages to complicate their already-complicated marriage.
One word that comes to mind when describing this book is fabulous. I loved the story, how Heather sort of flourish and becomes more confident in herself. Tony is great for her and vice versa. She's sassy and sharp and Tony's so charming and cute, they both make a sickeningly adorable couple. Jane's writing is delightful and I really enjoyed this book. It's a wonderful story with great characters - Jane Graves has definitely won my heart!
Marry in haste...
Accountant Heather Montgomery is a planner. So never in her wildest dreams did she think she'd run into sexy charmer Tony McCaffrey in Vegas, play lady luck, and celebrate his jackpot with a champagne-soaked night. And she certainly never expected to wake up the next morning married! How could this good girl pick a man whose fridge is empty and whose apartment is a disaster zone, yet still drives her so crazy with lust she can't see straight?
Lust at leisure!
Quickly hitched and happily ditched, Tony can't wait to gt back to his playboy ways. But when Heather's family is thrilled that their no-nonsense daughter is finally in love, he proposes a plan: stay married for a month to repay his good luck charm, even though she sterilizes his toothbrush and forbids anything between the sheets. But Heather is more than he bargained for--a sharp-witted, passionate woman who just might turn his near miss into wedded bliss!
