Adele Harris has had so many lousy dates that she's sure she's cursed. Why else would every man she goes out with go from having manners and being nice to acting like a complete jerk? Adele thought life couldn't get any more confusing until she learns the marriage of her seemingly Miss Perfect sister is on the rocks. So she goes back to their hometown to give her a shoulder to cry on, only to run smack into Zach Zemaitis . . . the one who got away years ago. Zach is a former pro star turned High School coach who can't stop thinking about Adele since he saw her again and is becoming more attracted to her each day. Will their relationship work out this time or is he destined to be just another bad date?
Rachel Gibson has always been one of my favorite authors so I started reading this book confident it would be another great one and Gibson definitely did not disappoint. I liked Adele's character a lot, especially how she dealt with having to go back to her hometown for her sister and meeting her ex-boyfriend after he broke her heart years ago. Zach grew on me, at first I thought he was a dumb jock but as the story progress, I liked his character more and more. Not Another Bad Date was a wonderful story with great, funny characters full of sass and I look forward to reading more of Gibson's great writing.
Adele Harris has dated them all-geeks, nerds, liars, losers. Egomaniacs, nymphomaniacs, and just plain maniacs. She's been set up and stood up, and now she's had it up to here with the jerks of the world. It's enough to make a girl give up dating forever. If only she could find a guy that made her heart flutter like her first love, Zach, the college quarterback who swept her off her feet senior year... before dumping her to marry someone else. Okay, so he wasn't perfect. But when Adele heads back to Cedar Creek, Texas, for a family emergency, she discovers that her hometown heartthrob is still as sexy as ever-and now he's single.
It could be the end of Adele's streak. After all, forgiving Zach for breaking her heart years ago and learning to trust him again will take everything she's got, but Adele can handle anything... anything but another bad date.
