Millie's Fling

Orla Hart is a romance author who, after meeting Millie under some distressing circumstances, decides to write her new romance novel based on Millie's life. Millie's a little out of sorts about this because she never thought meeting Orla that night would land her a friend for life or that that same friend would want to write a book of her admittedly boring life. But what Millie doesn't know is that Orla's determined to build up some romance for Millie on her own because honestly, you can't have a romance book without romance! And much to Millie's chagrin, Orla starts playing matchmaker.

While Orla's scheming, Millie has actually met someone. Someone who is completely unattainable, and whom Millie can't help but be attracted to. However, while Millie shares her outrageous house mate's adventures, her new job mishaps and what's going on with her crazy family with Orla for her book, she's left the most important detail out. And his name is Hugh!

Millie's Fling was such a pleasure to read! It's a light, romantic story with some seriously hilarious moments that had me laughing out loud and some really wonderful characters. I especially loved Hester, Millie's housemate. At first, she seems like a brainless blond but as the story progresses, and I got to read more about her, I found out she's a wonderful friend who cares deeply about Millie and also learned from her mistakes. While I admit that I thought at times that Hugh was being a complete jerk, once I read why he was being the way he was, I could understand his predicament.

The story doesn't only center on Millie and Hugh's fling, it also focuses on Hester's love life and its troubles, and even on Orla's as well. I loved that it gave me a chance to get to know the secondary characters so much better and made the book more real. Millie's Fling is a super cute and wicked funny book and I thoroughly enjoyed myself while reading it.
