Kate Daniels work for the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, and when her werewolf friend Derek is discovered, almost dead and horribly disfigured, it all leads to the Midnight Games, an invitation-only, ultimate supernatural fighting tournament and this new group of mysterious fighters who seem invincible. She and Curran, the Beast Lord, start to uncover a dark plot that may forever alter the werewolf community.

Who are this mysterious group? And will Curran and Kate be able to stop whoever is trying to permanent get rid of the werewolves.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the plot, I definitely love the characters, especially Curran, and I admit, I’m pretty much a huge fan girl of the Kate Daniels series. I feel Magic Strikes is one of the best books of the three in the series so far. Kate’s definitely grown up but continues to be her butt-kicking self. Curran is as fabulous as ever. All the other secondary characters only add more awesomeness to the story.

Magic Strikes is a fast-paced, action-packed, fantastic dark fantasy and I’m more than ever looking forward to more of Andrews’ books.
