"Zheng’s Heart" is the second book in the 'A Vampire’s Kiss' series by Amber Kell. This book is best read as part of the series to get the best understanding of all the characters.
Jonathan Zheng was a spirit that hung around Aaron’s neck for five months until Aaron could find a perfect body for him to take over. However, the body Jonathan received was a vampire. Now, Jonathan is trying to understand the world he is thrust into, when he finds his mate.
Banner is a bartender at the Orion’s Club. Banner is a vampire as well, and is Jonathan’s mate. He takes on the responsibility to feed Jonathan as well as gets to know him. However, Banner is not all he seems.
The connection between Jonathan and Banner is intense. They make a great pair, as Jonathan tries to deal with the feelings he has had for Aaron, and the new feelings he has for his mate, Banner. The sex scenes were scorching.
I found this book well-written with a fascinating plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were realistic. While the ending was a little predictable, the journey the book takes the reader on is gripping with several unexpected twists and turns. I had a hard time putting this book down. It was hard to believe that his book was only 71 pages long. It felt much longer. Overall, this was a very wonderful book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
Jonathan Zheng’s spirit has been hanging around Aaron’s neck for the past five months. When he finally gets a body, he discovers a new life comes with new issues.
Between exploring a relationship with Banner, the hot bartender at Orion’s club, and learning more about the man he’s become, Zheng discovers what he wants in life might not be what he originally thought.
When a killer starts piling up the bodies, Zheng has to not only cope with the investigation but also battle his new body’s insane cravings. Will he be able to work alongside Aaron and discover who is murdering people, or will he sink into madness like he was warned about?
