‘Velvet Valentines’ is the second book in the Club Velvet Ice by VJ and Sierra Summers. Overall, I loved this story. At 65 pages, this was a hot and steamy quick read. While this was part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I will be reading the next book in the series shortly.
Elise thought that her relationship with Derek was perfect until she stumbles upon an invitation to a Valentine’s Day Bacchanal at Club Velvet Ice. When she confronts Derek, he confesses about his past as a Dom and his reasons for giving it up. He thought Elise would not enjoy it so he kept it a secret.
Elise is a much stronger woman than Derek ever gave her credit for. I loved how rather than break it off she planned a way to show Derek he was wrong. Derek is a Dom who loves Elise. The problem is he never had a conversation with her about his past.
The chemistry between Elise and Derek is explosive. The sex scene are very hot. I loved how Derek pushed her boundaries once at the club. I also enjoyed how Elise was ready for anything. It just shows how little credit he gave her.
Elise and Derek have the perfect relationship—or so she thinks. When she discovers an invitation to a Valentine’s Day Bacchanal at Club Velvet Ice, she begins to wonder. Especially since it’s addressed to Master Derek. Forcing Derek to come clean about the secrets of his past also forces Elise to confront her own desires, as Derek puts her love—and her courage—to the test. Now they must discover if they have the strength to trust in their own feelings, and in each other, so their love can survive.
