Unbalanced

No Rival, #4

Unbalanced is very well written with a fascinating plot. The ending of the story was interesting and I enjoyed the journey on the way. The main character and the secondary characters were appealing. I will be picking up the rest of the books in the series.

Kurt is a MMA fighter who also works as a bouncer for a fetish club. Kurt is not just intelligent, he speaks seven languages, but also skilled. He is a man that captures the attention of everyone around him but he does not take advantage of it. Kurt is a unique and sexy man.

McKenna is an erotica author. She will do anything to get the details just right. She also thinks differently than most people and seems to enjoy messing with people around her. She daydreams and seems to be a mix of awkward and impulsive. The biggest problem with McKenna is I spent equal times wanting to shake her and admire her.

The connection between Kurt and McKenna is intense. They make a great couple and seem to get each other with little effort on each other’s part. The sex scenes were super-hot. McKenna seems to protect her heart and is afraid to take a chance again. When she stumbles upon a situation with Kurt rather than ask he what happened she tried to cut him from her life.

Unbalanced is the fourth book in the No Rival series by Charity Parkerson. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Overall, this was a fascinating book.

Book Blurb for Unbalanced

Using unmatched skill and intelligence, Kurt captures the attention of every partner he desires. His ability to confuse his prey keeps them captivated. This trick has never failed him. That is, until he meets McKenna. Author McKenna Jones has gone to great lengths to ensure the details of her erotic books are airtight. When Kurt challenges one of her scenes, she doesn’t hesitate to take up his offer to prove his theory. The bad-boy MMA fighter appeals to her on every level. Kurt’s intelligence stimulates her mind even as his touch sets her body on fire. Although McKenna would rather not add her name to his list of ex-lovers, she cannot resist his pull.

McKenna’s odd behavior exasperates Kurt. She is an addiction he cannot shake, but somehow the two of them make the combination of his OCD logic and her unbalanced nature work.

Inside Scoop: There are a couple hot but brief male/male encounters as well as a handcuff scene that may have you reaching for the fan.
