Felix Cotter is one of the best insurance investigators in the business. He is also a shifter, and his keen senses help him in his day job. He has no idea who his parents are or even what animal he is when he does shift. With the body of a Black Panther, head and paws of a white Bengal tiger he is a true mixed breed. While on the trail of a thief he finds his mate. Now its up to Felix to catch the burglar and help his mate however he can.
The beginning of the story leaves you interested in how this book will end. At the end of the first chapter, I could not put the book down even if I tried. The world the author created was realistic as well as believable. The author established a sense of location and time that helps the reader picture the place easily. I was easily pulled into the writer’s world and connected with the characters. The pace of the story was a steady pace, not to fast or too slow. The main characters and the secondary characters were both fascinating and authentic. Felix and Tyler each had issues they needed to deal with to make their relationship work. It makes them more realistic and believable.
The point of view alternated between Felix and Tyler, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters. The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat story lines. The main conflict of the story is Felix is investigating a theft that leads him to finding his mate, and trying to help him. I loved how the heart of the characters seemed to shine through. The characters fit the storyline very well. The level of conflict is perfect for the storyline and more and it would have distracted from the overall storyline. The dialogue between the characters was open and unique. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending did not turn out like I expected, and I enjoyed that part the best. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.
Felix Cotter is a top-notch insurance investigator, as well as a beast...of some kind. He has no idea who his real parents are, but when he shifts, Felix has the body of a black panther and the head and paws of a white Bengal tiger. Regardless, Felix now finds himself hot on the trail of a thief. The problem is, this thief smells like mate. Felix has never met another creature like him, so he's not sure what to think of the sensual dreams he's experienced since starting this case.
When Felix sets up a sting to catch the burglar, he finally comes face-to-face with the man of his erotic dreams--Tyler Panterone--and the feeling of belonging grows even stronger.
A white panther shifter, Tyler has been running scared since the murder of his family, and has since become involved with the wrong crowd, forced to steal against his will. Now, it's up to Felix to help Tyler out of the bad situation while not implicating him in any way.
Whoever is really behind these heists needs to be stopped, if only so Felix can finally settle down with the man he wants to keep safe and at his side forever.
