The Cop and the Geek

James O’Brien had a bad day, while waiting for his car to be fixed he gets into an altercation with a homophobic thug. Then to cap it all off he almost gets arrested by a sexy officer. Officer Scott Brown is a man who looks at the whole situation before making any decisions. So, thats how Scott ends up giving James a ride home and not arresting him.

The beginning of the story leaves you wanting to know more. At the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a great job of drawing the reader into her world. She was able to make the world realistic. The pace of the story was very fast paced.

The main characters and the secondary characters were interesting and realistic. I loved that both James and Scott had to overcome their personal issues before they came together. The point of view stayed with James all the way through the story. I would have liked to know more about what was going on in Scott’s head. The main conflict of the story is the relationship between James and Scott. There was just the right amount of storyline for the length of the story. The dialogue between the characters was genuine and distinctive. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but considering the length of the story, at just 64 pages, it’s not unexpected. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.
