Sinful Southern Hero

Sinful South 2

Lucy divorced her husband and left her hometown leaving no forwarding address and trying to leave no paper trail. She was an abused woman with a copy for a husband. Because he was a copy she was left with little options but to escape to protect herself. Her parents were no better. They attempted to have her committed instead of helping her. Lucy is alone and lonely, with no friends to help her. She worries her ex will harm anyone she gets close too.

Dalton is the owner of a construction company. He sure enjoys tattoos. He also enjoys dominating his partner in bed. Dalton is also a southern gentleman. So when he sees Lucy is in trouble he wants to help.

The more Dalton gets to know Lucy, and all of her problems and issues, the more he wants to help. The chemistry between them is blistering. I enjoyed seeing Lucy’s reaction to how people should treat her (and each other) with respect and caring. The sex scenes are hot and spicy. I enjoyed that the sex was not the main focus of the book. The focus was on helping Lucy move on from her ex.

Sinful Southern Hero is the second book in the Sinful South series by S. J. Drum. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease. I found this book well written with enigmatic and appealing characters. I had a hard time putting this book down and I read it in one sitting. I would have loved this book even more if we had gotten to see Lucy leave her husband rather than starting the story already on the run from him.

Overall, this book was wonderful.

Book Blurb for Sinful Southern Hero

Lucy escapes an abusive marriage and moves to Clifton, Tennessee, looking for a fresh start and somewhere safe to rebuild her life. She isn’t prepared for Dalton, a tattooed construction company owner with a penchant for dominating in the bedroom, or the feelings he awakens.

When Lucy’s ex-husband proves he’s unwilling to allow his reign of terror to end along with the marriage, she must learn to set her fears aside and place her trust—and her body—in Dalton’s hands.

Inside Scoop: Lucy is a curvy heroine who has never felt beautiful until she finds herself in Dalton’s strong arms. However, her memories of abuse and his protective instincts may be triggers for some readers with the same background.
