Alexander had a horrific past and while in therapy he still struggles with coming to terms with it. He wants to fall in love but is scared. He seems to need pain when he struggles with the world around him. Alex modeled his main character in his novel with an actor he had a crush on. When his novel is made into a TV movie, his favorite actor gets the part. Sage has a crush on Alex when he meets him. Alex is afraid to let Sage too close.
Sage is an up and coming actor who looks like the boy next door. He land the part as leading man in Alex’s lasts bestseller. Sage is a hot and sexy man who works hard and plays hard. He had a perfect childhood that came crashing down when his parents died when he was 19. Sage is the type of person that sees the positive in everything around him.
The chemistry between them is scorching hot. Sage seems to fall for Alex just as fast as Alex fell for him. I loved that Sage seemed to go after Alex. I also enjoyed that as Alex opened up to Sage, Sage had normal reactions to what he was hearing. He also wanted to protect Alex. The sex scenes between Sage and Alex were blistering. They are the perfect couple.
I found this story to be well written. I had a hard time putting this book down. I loved it so much. The main and secondary characters were realistic and intriguing. While I have not read Ms. Nicol before, I will be keeping my eyes open for more by her in the future. This was a fascinating book and one I can see myself re-reading in the future.
Punishing himself for a horrific past that is not his fault, bestselling author Alexander Montgomery seeks redemption and love—and perhaps he will find it.
Famous author though he may be, Alexander Montgomery is not someone you take home to meet your mother. Seriously flawed, damaged by a horrific past, he’s trying hard to claw his way back to normality. But how can anyone respect what he truly is? Then comes Sage. Tall, with black hair and blue eyes, an up-and-coming actor with impossible charm and boy-next-door good looks, he’s the perfect choice to play the leading man in a TV adaptation of Alex’s latest best-seller. Even more, he is a man you introduce to your family. Which Alex would do—if he weren’t taken by another man who offers the punishments Alex prays will wipe away the past and make him the person he wants to be. Yet, perhaps there is another path to redemption. If only the solution would reach out and touch him.
