Loved it! ‘Raven’s Dream’ is the second book in the Portland Pack series by Kam Miller. I found that it is best to read these books in order as each book builds on the prior. Raven has waited for Cale for 10 years to be ready to mate. Cale is having trouble letting go of his past, until Raven is hurt.
Raven is a strong character who has suffered significant loss in his life. He comes across as a loving, patient, and understanding person. Cale is fearful of the relationship between Raven and himself because of his past. Cale is a very complex character that works hard to overcome a horrific past.
Kam Miller created a wonderful and full world. There are a variety of shifters not just wolf shifters. I love the idea of different shifters in a world and not just one kind it makes it more realistic. I also loved that similar to real life there was drama between characters.
One of the problems I did have with the story was it was always in past tense. The action always seemed too happened already. I also was not fond of the cliffhanger like ending. The major issue was not really resolved in the end.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable story. While I have not read any other titles from Kam Miller I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
Ten years ago Cale escaped the slavery that he lived in his entire life. In the process he met his mate. Raven is everything Cale could have wished for in a mate but he is unable to let go of the past in order be the mate that Raven deserves.
Raven has watched over and protected Cale since he showed up barely alive on his Alpha's doorstep. He has dreamed of holding his mate for ten years but needs to wait for when Cale is ready.
After Raven is injured, Cale finds the strength to let go of his past and take a chance on his future. But Cale's past rears its ugly head and threatens everything they hold dear.
