Only at The Cavern

Heroes of Saturn, #6

Captain Marco DeWinter is content with his life but is slowly realizing something is missing and when he meets Dr. Jasmine Jovanovich things come into clearer focus. He wants her and when he finds out she is a dominatrix that does not deter him, he wants to be on her receiving end. Jasmine loves both being a doctor and a dominatrix but her heart is out of bounds for anyone. Can she trust Marco with her heart?

The beginning of the story leaves intrigued and excited to know more. At the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a good job of drawing the reader in to her world. She did a great job of making it very realistic. The story was fast paced from the first page to the last. The main characters and the secondary characters were exciting and authentic. Both Jasmine and Marco had faults that they each had to battle making them realistic.

The point of view alternated between Marco and Jasmine, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters. The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat story lines. The main conflict is the budding relationship between Marco and Jasmine and is complicated by the investigation Marco is involved with. The only real issue was how big a part the investigation played into the story line, because at times it distracted from the romance between Marco and Jasmine. The level of conflict was good, and more and it would have distracted more from the overall story line. The dialogue between the characters was honest and individual. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The book unfolds in a way that keeps the reader interested all the way through making the predictable ending interesting. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.

Book Blurb for Only at The Cavern

Ever since police Captain Marco DeWinter discovered Dr. Jasmine Jovanovich’s secret life as a dominatrix, he has wanted to be on the receiving end of a set of handcuffs and feel the bite of her stiletto in his back as she makes him worship at her feet.

Jasmine agrees to be his guide into the darker pleasures and is delighted when he dives in with the same enthusiasm as he does his police work. That is until he makes her question her “only at The Cavern” policy, and wants to blur the lines between her professional and personal life. When Jasmine is caught in the fallout of one of his cases, Marco must convince her that not only can she trust him to keep her body safe, but her heart as well.
